ENCOURAGING WORD TODAY - THURSDAY † When in the Den † Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king declared to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!” Dan. 6:16 I believe that Daniel sat at the bottom of that Lion’s Den, with the starving lions eyeing him hungrily, and thought: “REALLY? This was the plan?” After serving God faithfully, he ended up being “What’s on the menu” in a stinking hole in the ground…or so it appeared to him when he was thrown in there. Thank God the story does not end there. It turned out that it was a promotion for Daniel. The lions did not touch him, and after getting out he prospered under the king and had great respect. As a bonus his enemies were tossed in and eaten so he did not have to worry about them anymore. It just may be that what You think is the “worst thing that could possibly happen to You” is Your path to Favor and Promotion...
