Cv tingaconsulting@gmail Purpose of the Job: The incumbent will be responsible for the provision of engineering oversight on engineering services primarily to the Assmang operations, and to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements. Job Requirements: Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, a Government Certificate of Competency and/or Business qualification; Registration as Engineer with ECSA; Minimum 15 years experience in mining operations of which 5 years will be on senior management level covering vertical hoisting, mechanised underground mining and large scale opencast operations, pyro metallurgical plant operations and major projects; A proven and successful project management track record in the management of major projects within a mining organisation; Sound political understanding and ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organisation and with other relevant key stakeholders e.g. JV Partners, DME, Community leaders, general public and labour unions; Computer literacy; Willingness to travel; Valid driver’s licence. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide engineering oversight, guidance and direction in all aspects of engineering relevant to mining, shafts, hydro-metallurgical; pyro-metallurgical plant operations and surface infrastructure; Assist in the development of operational excellence by analyzing operational performance and recommending means of continuous improvement; Work as part of a project team on feasibility studies and project implementation; Liaise on the strategic intent of the CLIENT’S Mechanization and Automation Strategy; Design and redesign safety systems to the required level of defect; Ensure systems are established, standardised, integrated and implemented; Ensure that all aspects of the Mine Health and Safety Act are adhered to and that all mine standards are relevant, regularly updated and adhered to; Ensure that all capital projects are well managed and that all budgets are strictly adhered to.
