ENGLAND TRIP DAY FIVE: Back up to London on the train! First a couple crazy observations. The people here are so incredibly nice, its unreal. So many things run smoother because people just have common courtesy. Also, after five days, Chris and I still can;t figure out the traffic lights, the parking, the driving...any of it. Thank God we didnt try to get a car! Also, the subway system is the most amazing form of transportation ever. And slightly warm is THE way to drink beer! Okay, as far as what we did, checked into a kickass hotel around Picadilly Circus. Spent the afternoon at The British Library where we saw such things as....the Magna Carta, Shakespeares first folio, a Gutenberg bible, original Beatles lyrics, letters and books over a thousand years old, notes from Bronte, Dickens, Hardy and many more, drawings from Davinci and Michelangelo and so much more. Overwhelming...especially the Magna Carta, one of four copies remaining. Then off to 221b Baker Street for some Sherlock Holmes and lots of gift buying for our dad. Then, a little ways up the block to Abbey Road Studios. Got a couple great pics of us crossing the road from the cover...which is highly dangerous since the road is still in use so dodging traffic to get a picture was fun! Then out to eat to a fancy French restaurant and now at a pub for a pint or two....three.....four....tons of London stuff to do tomorrow! P.S. Chris and I are going to annoy people as we are picking up local phrasing and an accent. Its unavoidable.
