ENGLISH MEDIUM TOPIC PREPARED BY BRANCH JOGIAL FOR EMS CHILDREN. TRUE HAPPINESS Saints Say with love, Dhan Nirankar Ji Today we are enjoying the bliss by attending the holy congregation. This bliss has been possible due to the co-operation of all and you are enjoying this bliss which you have established with your contribution. Every moment is providing peace, comfort and inspiring. In this congregation every member is a witness to the fact that we have been in heavenly environment of joy and bliss with every pore of the body rejoicing. Holy view is a treat to the eyes and beautiful and truthful words spoken by the saints are a melody to the ears. Devotees by following the holy teaching and imbibing love and humility are strengthening the spirit of devotion. Devotees are inviting the attention of the people to the truth that the realizing God, the environment can be sublimated. Such valuable words had been there in the form of Holy Scriptures from time to time. Today, the same message was being reiterated and emphasized in simple words, keeping in view that this message is not meant to be ignored. And by ignoring it, one will be losing a big bargain. So, the saints’ message is for welfare of all. If we pay heed to these messages and follow them, then soul attains salvation and life gets refined and we win the battle of both the worlds. In this holy congregation, we are being inspired to lead a devotional life. Both the speakers and the listeners are enjoying the bliss of God-devotion. Having identified themselves with God and enjoying the true bliss, holy beings inspired the people to do so. Everyone aspires for happiness whether dwelling in a place or in a hut. Whether one is a ruler or a subject, an officer or a subordinate, a resident of India or of another country. Holy beings teach that one can be blissful if one realizes God and devotes oneself to Him. Man seeks eternal happiness from the material possessions which, as we all know, are not only intrinsically transitory but in course of time also become a source of unhappiness. However, it is not so with God, who is eternal. It is righty said: God-remembrance imparts eternal bliss. Even in trouble, God-remembrance brings peace. That is why it is said:- If one wishes to be every Happy, One should take refuge in God. What is meant is that only by identifying oneself with the Eternal, can one enjoy eternal bliss. On enjoying such bliss, holy beings have stated that the bliss which they enjoyed could not be enjoyed even by great kings and emperors who possessed enormous material wealth. Holy beings in all ages have said: One cannot attain True Happiness by having many friends but by remembering God. When the sun of truth and devotion rises, there remains no impact of polluted thoughts, suffocation or sense of dejection. Then Love, humility and feeling of welfare of all becomes dominant. Let everyone contribute towards establishing such an atmosphere. If one wants to worship Truth, one must become a temple oneself. A building turns into a temple when an idol is installed there. May everybody attain this state of mind. May all be able to transform their hearts into a temple, and by doing so, they may attain bliss and contribute in making the whole atmosphere harmonious and beautiful. If one calls himself ‘Das’ (slave), then one should be inclined to serve the master like a slave. If we are saying that love should prevail everywhere, then we must go on loving others. Let love be assimilated in our hearts, leaving no scope for hatred. If one worships God (the creator) and at the same time keeps friendship with ‘Iblis’ (evil spirit) also, then from whom will be expect reward for his faith on ‘Doom’s Day’. So saints inspire people like that and shake them out of slumber so that they may not become forgetful of the Truth. It is essential to keep evaluating oneself. Because of being in slumber of ignorance, man keeps on wasting the treasure of life. One spends his life anyway whether he is awake or not. But those who live in awareness, they do not waste their precious life. Soul gets salvation only during the life span on human being. When the soul is introduced to the over soul (God), its ignorance is shed. It emerges from narrow-mindedness to vastness. Man is neither able to realize God nor is he able to attain God realization. His identity is established on the basis of ignorance. He gives so much importance to these identities that they become cause of discord and separation. Often our thinking develops on the basis of worldly identities. And it is assumed that physical comports and worldly pleasures will do us good. But in reality, these are not the source of welfare. Realization of Truth is the real source of welfare. No one can derive true happiness from the world which can be attained only on God-realization. No doubt, man wishes for true happiness but does not adopt the right means. He wastes away his life in worldly pursuits instead of realizing God. A person shouts that it is too hot but instead of seeking water goes near a heater. And we remarks: How strange, he is complaining of heat but standing near a blazing heater, where the heat is all the more, He is not moving in the direction in which he can have relief, calm and peace. That is why he is tense. Those, who realize God, are relieved of worry and tension and enjoy peace and bliss. The worldly happiness has been likened to the fleeting clouds. Till such time the clouds are over our head, we enjoy the cool shade. However, the moment a blast scatters the clouds, we again feel the heat. The world has been likened to the fleeting clouds but not God, who can neither be scattered by winds nor destroyed by any means. Only on realizing God can one be truly happy here as well as hereafter. Only on realizing God can one be redeemed from the birth-death cycle. This has been the message of holy beings of ages: Without God-realization one cannot be liberated from the bondage: only when one realizes God, one’s illusions and delusions are dispelled. And God can be realized by the grace of a True Master. Saints like Tulsidas Jee and Valmiki Jee, has also given the same message: Without the grace of a True Master none can be redeemed may he be Brahma or Shiva. What is meant is that there has been only one means of liberation for ages i.e. grace of a True Master. Even lord Rama, who is regarded as Divinity, had a True Master in Sage Vasishta. He himself upheld the tradition to set an example for the world. If Lord Rama adopted this path, how can a man who has acquired a little knowledge undergone a little penance and has retired to a mountain cave, realize God without the grace of a True aster? It is sheer illusion; a school may have ground building and all facilities but no teacher. Can the students learn there? In the rural areas, we often behold the teachers teaching the students sitting under the trees by the side of roads. There are no school buildings or other facilities but there are teachers and therefore the students can learn. If we wish to boil water, it has to be kept on fire in a pot. But if we keep water on fire, not to speak of boiling, it will extinguish the fire. Water can be boiled only if we use the medium of a pot. A pot in itself cannot boil the water. Which is done by fire alone? However the pot serves as a medium. Similarly, one can be redeemed only on realizing God for which a True Master is an indispensable medium. We have to seek a True Master if we wish to realize God. And mind it, a True Master does not belong to a particular caste, community or creed and has no particular appearance. Often we suffer from the illusion that a True Master should be from our own caste or community. If we wish to learn English, it is not essential that the teacher should be an English man. Whose knows English, can teach it, irrespective of his caste community or creed. So is the case with an Engineer or Doctor; he can be from any caste or community. Teachers and student may belong to any caste, community, family or province to each and learn. Then why should a True Master belong to a particular caste or community? Anyone can learn from the competent teacher or instructor. Similarly, one can realize one’s origin. God, by the grace of a God-realized Master. Holy beings teach that the mind can be enlightened by the light of God knowledge. When the sun rises, the darkness is eliminated, automatically. To dispel the darkness of a room we do not need many means but only to light a candle. Similarly, when the mind is enlightened with the light of God-knowledge. One’s darkness of ignorance is dispelled. A question arises” Does it take ages to dispel the ignorance of ages? Those, who think so, ignore the fact that if there has been darkness in a cave for ages, it does not require ages to dispel it. The moment a matchstick is struck the darkness of ages is dispelled. What is meant is that by realizing God, the soul is enlightened and liberated from the bondage of even ages and is redeemed. That is why it is said that ignoring factors such as caste, community, creed and language, one should realize God by the grace of a True Master. Who is a devotee of God? Holy ones say that the one, who worship God, who love & respect all the human beings & all the religions, is a devotee of God; there is no question of caste or creed. In fact, caste and creed have no relevance because all humans have the same divine origin. But when we mistake the physical body for the real man, the soul, we are misled. Language, diet, dress etc. are not the mark of the real man, the soul, which is a constituent of God. Bodies may differ in colour, speak different language but the soul, constituent of God, is the same in all. There can be bends in a stream but not in the running water. There can be bends in sugarcane but not in its juice. Ornaments can be of different sizes and designs but gold is the same. Similarly, bodies can be different from one another but not the soul. However, owing to ignorance embodied souls regard themselves different from each other. That is why holy being exhorts man to be blessed with the light of God knowledge to enlighten his mind. So that he may shed the superiority complex and discrimination on the grounds of religion and caste and the feelings of hatred, enmity and jealously and wish well of the entire mankind. When we look around we find violence and bloodshed. Love and compassion seem to have become extinct. People are smoldering in the fire of hatred and scorching others. Such words and deeds testify that we are totally ignorance. Our claim to be religious is hollow. It is like brass claiming to be gold but failing on the touchstone. Saint Kabir says. On the touchstone of God, a liar is exposed, while the one, who surrenders to God, passes the test. We are too proud of our caste, community or creed and therefore cannot pass the test of God devotion. Only the one, who has complete surrender to God, can pass the test. Such a one has effaced oneself. May all wake up in time, realize God and shed their ignorance. May all embellish their lives with spiritual enlightenment and redeem themselves. May all imbibe love and inspire other to love. In fact, love is vanishing from our lives; we do not love but love hatred. If we follow the saintly teachings, once again we shall imbibe love and share love with other instead of hatred. In this way, we will also sublimate our homes and strengthen the society and the country, and this will benefit the entire humanity. Here the devotees to realize God, the reservoir of love, to imbibe and share love. They are inspiring all to love. So that an environment of love may prevail every where for all to be happy. Peace and tranquility lies in love, while unrest and fear in hatred. Have you ever heard anybody saying? I fear to love? No while hatred breeds fear, love bestows peace. A poet has said: Even a lifetime is short to love, How do people find time for hatred? God knows, how people spend their entire life in hatred from cradle to grave. People have unlimited time to indulge in hatred, slander, mud-slinging and tormenting others. In this way they tarnish their image, nay their life. They earn nothing but disgrace. How can we establish heaven on earth? If man is not ready to live like a man. If there is no human dealings, dealing of compassion, if there is no love, then how can this earth, this world become heaven, rather we are making it a hell, so much violence taking place all around world, may be based on the language, may be based on castism, religions or rationalism, communalism, so many factors, reasons, all created by man, not even a single, created by God. All manmade barriers, reasons to make this earth hell, that what is happening all around, go to Kashmir to Kanyakumari or go to any part of the world, may be there few exemptions but from time to time in different parts of the country or in the different parts of the world, we see such violence, we see such life lived by man which is harmful further. We are human being and we must respect all the human being. It is the holy teaching of present True Master. A devotee identifies himself with God and ever sings His praise. Love is life and to vindicate one’s love for God, one has to love all humans – God’s children. Humanism is the true religion. We should be human first and then play our rightful role in the society. May all be blessed with the awakening to realize God and fulfill the prime purpose of life and enrich themselves with the spiritual wealth of God knowledge? It is misfortune of man not to do so. About the path of love, it is said: The path is strewn with pearls, but a blind man passes by unawares. Unless blessed with the vision man will pass by. What is meant is that we should not behave like the blind who even trample on these precious stones like pebbles. Only when blessed with the divine vision, can we pick up the pearls? We have been blessed with the human incarnation to realize God but do not wake up from the slumber of ignorance and thus waste it away. Holy being exhort us to avail ourselves of this golden opportunity and pick up the pearls otherwise we shall repent. What is the use of rain when the crop has dried up? What is the use of repenting after the time has passed? It is no use crying over spilt milk. One should act in time and realize God. One should do so before death; no one knows what is going to happen the next moment. That is why man is being cautioned: Do not put off till tomorrow what can be done today. One may depart from the world any moment. Instead of postponing, one should realize God forthwith and be redeemed. This is the message that has been given by holy beings for ages. Those, who heeded it, benefitted themselves and those, who failed, gained nothing. The child devotee Prahlada realized God and was redeemed, while his father, the dictator King Hiranyakasipu, did not and was doomed. And so was the fate of Holika, the King’s sister. She was a rank egoist and was burnt to death, though she had the boon of immortality. What is meant is that only those, who wake up in time, are redeemed. Whichever the age. Here the devotees are giving the same message. Those, who act on it, are redeemed and blissful, here and hereafter. Sant na hote Jagat Mein to Jal Marta Sansar. The world would have burnt itself in the fire of hatred and jealousy, had there been no saints. Birth as a human being has been regarded as the greatest boon. But man has always acted contrary to it, indulging in sinful activities. We have guided to missiles but misguided the man. We should love the man and used the things but in the opposite, we love the things and use the man, Say Baba Jee Devotees by following the saintly teaching and imbibing love and humility are strengthening their spirit of devotion and inviting the attention of the people to the truth that by realizing God, the environment can be sublimated. May such sublime environment prevail everywhere? May the whole of the humanity imbibe love and affection and humility and peace so that all may enjoy and share love, peace and bliss? At last I pray into the holy feet of present true master His Hilliness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj. May all are blessed with this God Knowledge and those who are already blessed, may lead their lives in awareness of God. It is heartening to see the enthusiasm of all the saints here at this Satsang. This bliss has been possible due to the cooperation of all. May Almighty bless all so that everyone contributes his bit for strengthening humanism. May all make Eternal Truth the basis of their life. I also pray in the lotus feet of Baba Jee may whole of the universe realize God in good time and thereby realize their origin, so that all difference be eliminated and all walls created by the man on the base of Cast, Creed, Colour, languagism, rationalism etc. be demolished and peace prevail throughout the universe and man leads a blissful and contented life.
