ENGLISH #WhyNon-tithingChristiansBecomePoor…-16.Quote:“God has declared in His Word that not tithing is stealing from Him. God sees the non-tither as a thief. All the curses that are due thieves are therefore determined on non-tithers.”–Bishop Dag Heward-Mills. Today’s Study Book – Why Non-tithing Christians Become Poor…, by Dag Heward-Mills. Chapter - 2 Study Subject - Curses That Follow Non-Tithers Memory Verse - “Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.” Zechariah 5:3 (KJV) We continue with the eight curses that follow non-tithers as listed by Dag Heward-Mills. “EIGHT CURSES THAT FOLLOW NON-TITHERS” “3. People who do not pay tithes are cursed with the curse that comes on those who dare to steal from God.” – Dag Heward-Mills All those who work must pay taxes to the government. Failing to do so is illegal which has penalties. Normally, no one complains about paying taxes to the government. No one feels that it is unnecessary or that the principle in itself is robbery. Of course, people have issues with the percentage of tax the government stipulates, but no one is opposed to or fights the principle. To help your understanding, consider tithing as God’s tax on you the Believer. You can now see why not tithing is equivalent to stealing. Almost all countries have penalties of varying degrees for not paying taxes. Our societies however allow for the distinction between tax avoidance and tax evasion. The latter is considered a legal offence and a crime. With God, there is no latitude for even tax avoidance. There is nothing like legalized “Tithe Avoidance”. Why? I believe this is because the underlying principle of tithing is remembrance and gratitude. Why should you want to try not to remember the full extent of God’s mercy and goodness to you?
