Curfew was imposed in many parts of Kashmir Valley due to the firing incident in Gool area of Ramban. Our correspondent reports, there has been no relaxation in curfew any where since yesterday morning. EVENING NEWS BULLETIN 20-7-13 ACCIDENT Two persons were killed and 12 others injured, when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge in Poonch district. Evening News Bulletin 20-07-2013 Power Projects The Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) is developing 6 Mini Hydle Power Projects of 9.5 MW capacity in the Jammu and Kashmir State through Independent Power Producers (IPP) mode under phase-II. This was stated by the Minister of State for Science and Technology Feroz Ahmed Khan today while reviewing the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA). Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) and Leh Renewable Energy Development Agency (LREDA). The Minister said that the JAKEDA has earlier allotted 6 projects having 9.95 MW Cumulative capacities under Phase-I among IPP to develop these projects in different areas of the State. He said more projects shall also be allotted in future in Phased manner by JAKEDA to play a positive role as State’s Renewable Nodal Agency for harnessing the renewable power potential in the State. EVENING NEWS BULLETIN 20-07-2013 JWAM Sunil Dimple President Jammu West Assembly Movement has urged upon the chief minister Omar Abdulla to gear up administration as the rains have caused heavy loss to the property in the Jammu city. Sunil Dimple visited many localities of constituency and meet the people who suffered the heavy loss today. Dimple called upon the DC JAMMU and apprised him all the situation. He said many houses in New Plot, Janipur, Sarwal, Rehari, Krishna Nagar, Talab Tillo have damaged due to flood in the areas. YATRA-SUSPENDED Meanwhile, Amarnath yatra remained suspended from Jammu for the second day today in view of curfew imposed in many parts of Kashmir Valley due to the firing incident in Gool area. Chief Secretary has called for performing a Base Line Survey to generate effective Data Bank at Halqa Panchayat level to help Panchayats in the Development of plans. It was informed in the meeting that State Panchayat Resource Centres (SPRCs) and District Panchayat Resource Centres (DPRCs) are planned to be established under RGPSA in various Districts. Moreover, Rs 50,000 will be provided to each Halqa Panchayat for various services including street Lighting, sanitation, repairs of Halqa assets etc under the Scheme. Vohra, Governor, chaired a high level meeting at the Raj Bhavan, today to discuss the arrangements to be put in place for the 101st Indian Science Congress being held at the University of Jammu from 3rd - 7th February 2014. The theme of this Science Congress is “Innovations in Science and Technology for Inclusive Development”. The Governor impressed upon all the Vice Chancellors and the heads of the various medical, science and technology institutions of higher learning in the State to join hands for organizing this mega scientific event in the most befitting manner, particularly as it was being held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir. Evening News Bulletin 20-07-2013 Sham-Water As a part of initiative to improve work culture and ensure close monitoring of the working of the Government departments, Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma, today paid a surprise visit to Sitlee, filtration plants here at Nagrota and inspected the functioning of the premier installation for supply drinking water to the city of Jammu. He directed for regular test checks of water in the laboratory to ensure safe drinking water to the people. He also directed to update the store inventories and proper upkeep of filtration plants. The Minister also visited the office complex and took strong notice on the absence of some officials/officers. Evening News Bulletin 20-07-2013 Pak-Violence Fifteen militants and four security personnel were killed during an operation to flush out terrorists from the restive Khyber tribal region of northwest Pakistan. The clash broke out when the security personnel were conducting an operation in Zao Kharmatang area in Khyber Agency last night. The operation named Khyber-2 was launched yesterday to clear the area of terrorists and criminal hideouts. Several banned organizations, including the Taliban, are active in Khyber Agency and the army recently carried out an operation in the region to flush out militants who had captured strategic heights. Yatra - Weather: According to a special advisory weather bulletin by the Metrological Department for Amarnath yatries, the weather forecast for tomorrow that is July21, 2013 is that there will be moderate to heavy rain/ thundershowers in the morning from Jammu to Udhampur while from Udhampur to holy cave shrine via Pahalgam, there will be spell of rain/thundershowers. For Baltal route, there will also be occasional rain/thundershower from Khanbal to holy cave via Sonamarg.
