ENOIDEM EXPOSES GOV. AKPABIO’S SECRET DEAL IN PDP. *ACCUSES PAUL EKPO OF CLANDESTINELY GIVING GUBER TICKET TO UDOM. There is a psychological theory that claims that ‘human beings are prone to say truth whenever they are very happy, highly intoxicated and each time they are very angry.’ This philosophy may have found its way recently on the former state treasurer of People’s Democratic Party, Mr. Emmanuel Enoidem who was elated during his golden jubilee celebration and exposed the state PDP dirty deal towards the forthcoming gubernatorial election. Enoidem, who doubles as the chairman of the building committee of PDP while introducing the state chairman of the party, Obong Paul Ekpo told the mammoth crowd that, the largest party in Africa has only one gubernatorial ticket in the state and has already given same to Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the state secretary to the state government. The former treasurer of PDP who is a close ally to the governor warned other gubernatorial aspirants to immediately defect to other political parties as their continuous stay in the party was a mirage, noting that, only rapture can deny Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel of becoming the governor of the state. It will be recalled that, this was the same strategy used by the state governor in 2011 where the then state chairman of PDP Mr. Uwem Ita Etuk denied other governorship contenders such as Mr. Frank Okon and Mr. Imo Udo of nomination forms, until they bought at Wadatta Plaza in Abuja. It seems that, the former treasurer in conjunction with his bosom friend, Gov. Godswill Akpabio had entered into a spiritual agreement with the state chairman of the party to ensuring that, if he fails to oblige by giving Udom the gubernatorial ticket, he may die or run mad as a result of the breach of agreement. The agreement is said to have triggered the state chairman into harbouring Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s ACA campaign buses in his Shelter Afrique domain as well as appointed his cousin, Mr. Andrew Uwanta as the chairman of Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance- a group set to actualize Udom’s gubernatorial dream. A source at the state PDP office alleged that the term of reference of the ‘spiritual covenant’ was to ensure that, Mr. Emmanuel Enoidem who hails from former Abak Five division deputize Udom Emmanuel so as to give the state governor a leeway into becoming the next senator from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District. Another impeccable source in the party who did not want his name on print said that, the dirty deal was contrary to the rotation policy of the party, noting that, if Eket Senatorial District should produce the governor, then the deputy governor must be from Uyo Senatorial District which has never produced such since the amalgamation of northern and southern protectorates in 1914. He stressed that, if Enoidem/ Paul Ekpo’s agreement is fulfilled, Uyo Senatorial District would have stayed for 16 years without producing neither a governor nor deputy, adding that, such will be marginalization. ‘We in the party have agreed that power should be shifted to Eket Senatorial District, with USD producing the next deputy governor. The political equation is that, for Uyo Senatorial District which has never produced a deputy governor since the amalgamation of northern and southern protectorates, to be able to do that, and then we should consider ethnic differences, because it will be unfair for Ibibio in Eket Senatorial District to deputize another Ibibio in USD. Enoidem/ Paul Ekpo’s plan is criminal, diabolic and contrary to the rule of law, hence the reason why we are not in tandem with it’ he stressed. The state chairman may not have seek the consent of his executive members before embarking on this agreement as this issue has already generated rancor and may lead to impeachment of the chairman by the party members. Already, other state executive committee members of the party are lamenting why the state chairman should have sold party ticket to Udom without the consent of other members, maintaining that, they will resist imposition to its barest minimum. ‘We are not against Udom contesting election, but we are against Paul Ekpo imposing him on the generality of the public. If he thinks he has the capacity to sustain the gigantic strides of this administration, then he should be allowed to go to the field. I promise you that, we shall resist imposition of any sort from the government.’ Except the leadership of the party in the national comes to rescue, the All Peoples Party or any other political party may win the forthcoming election in the state, as there is currently a mass exodus to other parties due to the revelation of Mr. Enoidem who is known as a man of proven integrity who is prone to exposing government secret especially whenever he is elated. Emmanuel Enoidem is among the three only survived Annang commissioners who have stayed in the Akpabio’s led administration in the state since 2007, others include; Mr. Don Etim and Mr. Etido Inyang. No other ethnic has found such favour from Akpabio. SOURCE: THE IBOM TELEGRAPH NEWSPAPER.
