ENVIRONMENTAL VISUAL AUDIT IN LINGFIELD A visual audit took place on 17th June in Lingfield by PCSO 6639 Heseltine, Cllr Lynn Haszeldine, John Williams, from Darlington Borough Council’s Enforcement Team, Darlington Fire Brigade and Glenn Caley from Darlington Borugh Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team. The main issues noted were graffiti, litter, dog fouling and a damaged street name sign. A graffiti tag was seen on the sign at the entrance to Bourne Avenue and on the footpath alongside Eastbourne Sports complex. Chalk drawings were also seen on the side of the flats at Dinsdale Crescent, however this is not permanent damage. There was litter seen on the Eastbourne Sports field and dog fouling on The Fairway. A street name sign was bent at the entrance to Larkspur Drive. In order to tackle some of the issues Streetscene will clear the litter, graffiti and dog faeces. Patrols taken at peak times of the sports centre usage may help to tackle the litter issues. On a positive note there are many Neighbourhood Watch, littering and dog fouling signage in the area.
