ENVY is more than a story about a girl and a dog. Its about the fact that sometimes people simply do not value human life. A person becomes an object... an item to trade, use, or throw away without a second thought. And in this case, a pack of dogs is more welcoming and more of a family than people are willing to be. Sounds like great fiction, but unfortunately, its not all that far fetched. The underlying story told through this film is happening right now, in places not as far away as you might imagine. If nothing else, I think this film is one small step towards putting a face to the nameless people in this world, to help them be seen as people before theyre thought of as objects or animals.
