EOC Flood Update June 30 4:50 PM The Incident Command Post (MESA) located across from the Medicine Hat Police station will be demobilized as of 5 pm today and will not resume activity in the manner it has over the past many days. The remarkable effort by our strike teams and Task Force inspection groups as well as other City staff and volunteers on site dealing with hundreds of people regarding their homes and businesses has resulted in the reduction of the number of re-inspections and hook-ups to the point where the Command Post is no longer required. This operation would not have been successful without the outstanding co-operation of residents and business owners who worked with us by registering, waiting at their homes and reporting to the MESA location in such a positive and collaborative fashion. This is one of the many reasons Medicine Hat is an outstanding city. The Emergency Operations Centre continues to monitor the situation and will meet at 9 am Tuesday morning to determine the status of the State of Local Emergency and report on the results of the many activities that have taken place over the past several days.
