ERRC and NEKI leave Human Rights Working Group to Protest Hungarian Government’s Actions against NGOs The ERRC and the Legal Defense Bureau for Ethnic and National Minorities (#NEKI) sent a letter to Deputy Secretary of State Dr. Róbert #Répássy, who is also the President of the Human Rights Roundtable, to express their concern regarding the recent wave of attacks launched by the Government against various NGOs in #Hungary. The two organisations informed Mr. Répássy that they are leaving the Human Rights Roundtable because meaningful cooperation with the government is no longer possible in the light of these ongoing attacks against Hungarian civil society. In the letter, the ERRC and NEKI underlined that, although they have not been directly affected by the recent events, they condemn this negative campaign and express their support to the organisations affected. The Human Rights Roundtable is a Government initiative launched in 2012 to bring civil society and officials together to discuss human rights issues.
