ESCONDIDO GOLF & LAKE CLUB HOSTS THE LOS GUERREROS GENTLEMEN’S MEMBER-GUEST The Eighth Annual Los Guerreros Gentlemen’s Member-Guest was held Thursday, June 5th – Saturday, June7th at Escondido Golf & Lake Club. The Member-Guest began with practice rounds on Wednesday; continuing Thursday with Breakfast, shopping with gift certificate in the Los Guerreros Titleist and Footjoy Tournament Shop, 18-holes Stroke Play Shamble, and the “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” Welcome Dinner at the Lake Club. The Friday events consisted of 18 holes Stroke Play One Best Ball Net, the Ladies Luncheon & Trunk Show, and the Los Guerreros Gala at the Great House. The final rounds where held on Saturday with 9-holes Stroke Play Modified Alternative Shot, and the Flight Champions Shootout on #17, #18, #10 and Final Hole. The tournament field was comprised of 70 2-man teams. The course conditions were fabulous, the food and drink throughout the tournament was beyond expectations, and the competition in the 12 flights was spirited. On Saturday afternoon, 14 teams qualified for the Shootout. After 3 shootout holes, 14 teams were narrowed down to 4 teams comprised of Monty Holcombe & Jason Ainsworth, Jeff Hall & Paul Divis, Mike Tate & Don Hoff, and Russ Rutledge & Terry Pate. Three teams went into a chip off to determine the overall champions. After a clutch chip shot finished next to the hole, the team of Russ Rutledge & Terry Pate was crowned Los Guerreros Champions. The team of Mike Tate & Don Hoff followed as Runners-Up, while the team of Monty Holcombe & Jason Ainsworth finished third. The entire Escondido Staff would like to thank the Members and their Guests for participating in the 2014 Los Guerreros Gentlemen’s Member-Guest.
