#ESN This is an announcement we will do in English due to the players affected and their fanbase. Yesterday, the 2nd of October, one of the teams, BX3, was disqualified from the League of Legends finals at Sørlanet 2013 due to several rule violations. Responsible game admins and game chief believe that these events strictly are breaking the rules and disqualifications is the only adequate penalty to the situation. 1) Several of the players were spectating through the Twitch stream on their computers while playing in the semi-finals and finals of the tournament. This gives a clear unfair advantage over the other teams in the tournament and clearly violates the ruleset. Warning from the game admin was given and was ignored. 2) By having the stream open on your computer in the background you have several clearly unfair advantages. By being able see the game and all information about the enemy team and mainly able to hear our proficient casters and a highly professional analyst throughout the stream in the background who is explaining what the team should do, what plays to do, which items to build, how to counter the enemy team is direct cheating. 3) There were several suspicious pauses throughout semi-final games from players on BX3 where players would pause in a situation where a player from BX3 was for example 1 vs 3 and near death. In a real time game you are limited by your personal skillset and talent and by pausing in such a situation for 10-30 seconds several times other players of the team might be able to lay out the tactics for you how to escape death. League of Legends is not a turnbased game and should be played realtime. This occurred several times. 4) One of the last pauses was said to be a screen blackout and explanation that all the pauses were due to this. We were not informed in between the games and when the last pause occurred it was checked by an unofficial ESN representative and by the time the admin arrived on stage the screen worked again and game resumed. This is an unfortunate event that we hope we can avoid in the future. ESN as an organisation is an effort by very few individuals to fuel and bring the real eSports experience to Norwegian players and clearly, rules are rules. We look very much forward to seeing all the participating teams and players in the future and everything we do is in the best interest of eSports and growth in Norway.
