Do you have at least 12 months’ experience of teaching a foreign language or English as a Foreign Language? Language House is a tutoring agency which puts language tutors in touch with language learners in their area. Tutors registered with us can expect to find one or two new students per month. We require experienced tutors for private tutoring assignments throughout the UK. Due to an increase in demand we currently need tutors of the following languages: French, Spanish, Italian, German, English, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Russian, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Farsi. Tutors must have experience of language teaching in a classroom environment or from private tutoring. Tutors registered with us can choose where they will deliver classes. Some tutors only teach from their own homes and other tutors only travel to learners’ homes. Many tutors can teach both at their own home and that of the learner. Each tutor can decide where they wish to work. The classes take place either at the learner’s home or that of the tutor according to the learner’s preference. Tutors are free to set their own hourly rate although most tutors charge £20 - £30 per hour. We don’t allow tutors registered with us to charge less than £15 per hour. Students pay the tutor directly, usually after each session. Tutors must have at least twelve months’ relevant, demonstrable language teaching experience and be educated to degree level. A teaching qualification, although not essential, would be an advantage. If you wish to register as a language tutor but have not been teaching that language for at least a year, please don’t apply. Our marketing generates a considerable volume of enquiries from potential language learners.
