EWS girl slapped, then suspended from school -a Times of India Report Every day such incidents happen in schools where economically deprived child is ill treated in schools where EWS scheme is enforced.Thereby creating an unsafe environment for these children and forcing them to bow out from the school which should have worked to fulfill the dream of quality education to such children. The economic rift between rich and por has widened in such proportion that equal education opportunity is almost impossible in India. Access to quality education is still in abysmal state not only in villages but in urban slums in Delhi too. It’s quite unjustified scenario where children do not have access to minimum education facility.S/he has to think according to resources and what society teaches him to accept the reality of life. Begumpur is very near to Kalu Sarai, Vijay Mandal and even Hauz Khas. Residence of Hauz Khas has access to good infrastructure, raod, food and everything. Kalu Sarai is the hub of education institutes making IAS, Engineers. And, on the other hand, we have backward Begumpur where Vth class child is not able to properly write A, B, C D. Interior roads are very narrow that you will feel exhausted to walk. We talked to children and parents and children showed excitement to have digital education. When we were returning back, we saw a group of children following us. When we asked, they said, “Ma’am we would like to see the office so that we would come tomorrow.” We would like to prove wrong people who think that poor and neglected people do not want to learn and they do not want change. Friends! They want change and they have courage to improve themselves even better than us. So, appreciating the efforts of children of Begumpur, Development Labs has started Project ‘Bridging Digital Divide’ to access computer education. https://drive.google/file/d/0B48nOKn5OQiebVR3bE5uUkk0S0U/view?usp=sharing
