EXCUSE OR MOTIVATION? there,s th story of two brother,s who grew up in a very broken home. There father, unrepentant drunk & reckles gambler, verbaly, physicaly & emotionaly abused both boys regularly until they grew old enough to leave hom. 35yrs down th line, 1 of the boys ws senteced to death on convictd of murder, rape & theft. &, ironicaly, th other had bcome a reputable jugde of a state. Nt a few persons were intrestd in ths out come of destins. A fascinatd reporter decitd to investigate. He went to th prison were th convict ws held & about to be hanged & inquired of hm y hs lyf hs turned out the way it did. The convict replyd ," i grew up in a broken hom & ws the object of to much abuse by my father... I gues that,s y i ended up a criminal." it took th reporter a litle while to truck down th other brother, & when he eventuly did, he askd hm th same question. The judge answered, " wel , i com frm a barck ground of much abuse by my father, bt i promised my self that i wil nt end up my journey in lyf lyk he did. I reasovd that i wil going to succed with my lyf no matter what it took, & today, i dont thnk hv done too badly." leson, both individuals had similar upbringing & early lyf expriences, yet hw opozd their ends! 1 ended up dispacable criminal & th other a reputable judge. Truly it,s nt what hapen tö us, bt our respons to what hapen to us determins th out come of our lives. 1 mans excuse for failure & underachievement is another mans motivation for succes & accomplishment. We turn out to be what we choose.
