EXODUS 3:1—6, ACTS 9:1—6, ACTS 2:1—4 Ex 3:1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. Ex 3:2 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Ex 3:3 Then Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn. Ex 3:4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here I am. Ex 3:5 Then He said, Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. Ex 3:6 Moreover He said, I am the God of your father-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God Ac 9:1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest Ac 9:2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Ac 9:3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Ac 9:4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? Ac 9:5 And he said, Who are You, Lord? Then the Lord said, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads. Ac 9:6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what do You want me to do? Then the Lord said to him, Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do. Ac 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Ac 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Ac 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. Ac 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ENCOUNTERING GOD if you tried to read any posting from Saturday or Sunday this weekend here you found none. The reason being that Shirley and I were at an Encounter Weekend. We were totally “unplugged” from Friday at 3:00 P.M. Until Sunday at about 2:00 P.M. The purpose was so we could spend time in an Encounter with The Lord. It was an intense weekend of being ministered to and working on coming face to face with the Lord in a beautiful setting surrounded by Love and Safety, and most certainly the Power of the Lord. Just as those mentioned in the scriptures above, Moses, Saul(soon to be called Paul), and the 120 people in the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost. You walk away changed. I will not go into too much detail I will tell you that we spent some very intense hours facing down giants in our lives and “CLEANING OUT OUR CLOSETS” spiritually speaking. I urge you if the chance ever arises for you to take part in an Encounter Weekend do so you will come away changed. Just as these people had their lives changed God is waiting and urgently seeking us out to build that stronger and more powerful, awesome RELATIONSHIP with Him. What a powerful and wonderful thing it is to grow closer in your walk with the Lord and to know that you will never feel the same as you did before. All of these people, Moses, a man who grew up in what the world would consider a blessed existence only to commit a murder and spend 40 years waiting to fulfill the call had for him. The 120 on the day of Pentecost not quite understanding what the promise was they would receive but knowing that Jesus had promised them something waited in that upper room and received the Holy Spirit. Saul, soon to change completely to Paul meeting Jesus in and encounter on the Damascus Road so that his life could change and open up Missionary trip after Missionary trip to spread the Gospel. All of them met with, ENCOUNTERED GOD IN HIS GLORY AND POWER. NEVER TO BE THE SAME AGAIN. MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU TODAY!
