EXTREMELY advanced and expensive quadcopter drone. The Phantom 2 vision plus is made by Dji. It is a 5.8 gigahertz radio system, the radio system in my v959 is only 2.4 gigahertz (GHz), so the Phantom 2 has very high range about 2000 to 2500 feet (half a mile) maybe further (Horizontally). Its top speed is around 58km/35miles to 60km/37miles an hour, maybe faster depends on the weather conditions. The DJI Phantom 2 version “plus” has a HD camera (1080p) with a 3 axis gimbal to make the camera viewing smooth/stable and not jerky with the quads sharp movements. There is live feed from the camera to your iphone or ipod (or android) via a wifi extender on the remote (only with Phantom 2 vision and vision plus). It has GPS capabilities to tell where it is, the quod will stabilise and stay in the same spot if you take your thumb off the right stick (if you have one of the two remote switch’s set to GPS mode). The drone needs at lest 6 satellites to work on GPS mode and other GPS related functions. It also has return to home features (it will fly back to you on auto pilot) and it has course lock. Via the iphone or ipod you can take videos, photos, adjust video adjustments and you can set wave points on the iphone/ipod screen on a map that is like google maps. The wave points are coordinates you can set on places so that the drone can fly on auto pilot to each wave point and back to you. You can set the altitude for the drone to fly for each wave point. To get to the map just swipe the screen. In all this you can be videoing. In order to use the ipod/iphone as a screen for the camera you need to download the Dji vision app. The app and the software on the drone can be updated. Theres MORE INFO about the drone in the review videos below. I would judge this quod drone as being for experienced flies. Its advised to get practice on a lot cheaper quad, so you can fly well, so you don’t damage a $1500 piece of equipment. That’s how much the vision plus costs. Just the vision cost around $1000.
