EYN Church of the Brethren Daily Devotional. 27th March, 2014. Text: I Cor 11:23-28, John 3:1-17 Topic: In remembrance of Me. Jesus demonstrated a practice that is contrary to the Jewish culture acting like a Servant. This is a high act of humility washing the feet of the Disciples.a. He told them to do likewise. Paul in his letter to Corinthians had received special instruction from the Lord concerning the Lords Supper. Certainly, Paul learned about Jesus Last Supper from the twelve or possibly a direct revelation from Jesus. The first Lords Supper took place on the Night Jesus was betrayed. The Corinthians instead of showing Humility & Love, they turn it to fun and drunkenness. The Lord took the Bread and said, this is my Body. He sacrificed his Body for us so that through His Death we might receive eternal life. The reason for this celebration is to keep in our Memory fresh what Jesus did for us.......... a new covenant, this is a new Promise given to People by God that if they believe in His Son Jesus, their sins will be forgiven and they have eternal Life. We should proclaim Jesus death to all Men that He died for us, we should never celebrate the covenant in an unworthy manner that will be judgmental.
