EYOWF 2013 Volunteers support Brasov 2020! RO: Voluntarii FOTE 2013 susțin candidatura Brașovului pentru Jocurile Olimpice ale Tineretului 2020! Brasov. January 17th, 2015 - For the first time since the 2013 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, the Festival’s volunteers have gathered to support Brasov’s candidature for hosting the Youth Olympic Games in 2020. Those who were not able to attend showed that distance can be beaten, one example being Valentin Chicu who took a photo of himself in the National Assembly Square in Chișinău. Cazimir Geantă, organizer and EYOWF 2013 Marketing volunteer: “It is inspiring to witness such a wonderful group of people freely giving of their time to support this important project. The volunteers remain as united as they were at the 2013 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival and I want to thank them very much for this! Today’s event emphasizes a simple message: Brasov is ready to welcome the world in 2020 by hosting the Youth Olympic Games, no matter what challenges lay ahead!” The Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2020 will be awarded to a city that has never hosted an Olympic Games – a first for the Olympic Movement. Brasov is competing against the Swiss Olympic capital of Lausanne. The host city will be elected on July 31st, 2015 at the 128th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur.
