We all carry this story with us through our days, as the hurt of it, and the stillness of it, and the reality of it follows us - it just does. If youre like me, a hundred things throughout the day remind you of Magnolia - of Davy - of Jake. The last several days I have also been reminded of someone I have never met, as well. Her name is Alison Swan Acone. I have watched and read and listened as she has stood as a sentry at the gate of this familys battleground. I can think of no other way for her to be such a rod of cast-iron strength than that she is being filled with strength from on High, to stand in the gap for the Goetz family. Wherever you are, Alison, Im praying for you, too. That God would increase your strength and your joy as you serve with a heart of beauty and humility and obedience.
