Each one of us is prone to wrongdoing (maʾṣiyah). Sometimes, we commit such maʾṣiah in our moments of human weakness. In other times, we commit them in our state of ignorance. However, it’s patheic that some of us shamelessly take their maʾṣiyah public and invite others, via social media, to join them in the making. To justify that, they further claim doing it because they are imperfect and unholy. Unfortunately, these are involved in “Daʾwah” and Daʾwah organizations. The Prophet, ṣallaā Allāhu ʾalaihi wasallam, prayed every morning and evening and said: O Allah… I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Satan and his helpers. (I seek refuge in You) from bringing evil upon my soul and from harming any Muslim [with my evil]. One of the fundamental ethics (Adab) of the one involved in any form of Daʾwah is that, when he can’t provide solution, he doesn’t contribute to the problem, let alone justifying it. Let us not feel secure against Allahs retribution. For no one feels secure against His retribution except for those doomed to ruin. [See Sūrah al-Aʾrāf, 7:99] May Allah grant us and our loved ones refuge from the evil within ourselves, and the evil of arrogance. Allāhu Ḥāfiẓ! #Cyberethics #Daʾwahethics #Adab
