Each year as fairgoers enjoy the midway, chow down on fried food and browse through hundreds of vendors throughout the expo centers, it is easy to forget the South Florida Fair has its roots in agriculture. Today at 4:30 p.m. we hold our annual Youth Livestock Market Auction in which youth from nearly 18 counties will sell their livestock – hogs and steers – hoping to get top price. For many the money raised will be used to cover the cost of college, help area local nonprofits or to get a much needed new vehicle.
