Although the mens team have a narrow loss on their record, they still lead the League on sets differential, while the womens team are marginally behind Hamilton, but with a game in hand against bottom-ranked Manukau South. Hamilton women struggled to put away lower ranked opposition in two 4-set games, but with only one loss cannot be discounted in the race to the important Top 4 positions, while Sparta women are also mounting a comeback after two wins and sit just outside the Top 4. Tauranga and Mauao women continue to fly the flag for the Bay of Plenty, sitting just below the front runners. In the Mens League unbeaten Mauao, from Bay of Plenty easily disposed of their opposition in straight sets, including Sparta, the top team over the last decade, while Manukau clubs South Auckland and Playaz climbed above their opposition into the Top 4 mens teams, after both survived hard-fought five set matches against Hamilton and Tauranga respectively.
