Each year the Tourist Inn Benefit Committee reaches out to help a local family in need. This year we are helping the family of baby Eirian Condon. This is her story.... Baby Eirian was born on Feb. 24, 2013 weighing less than one pound and was only 11 inches long. She was born four and a half months premature. Her mother carried her for 22 weeks and 6 days. Her doctors at York Hospital and Hershey Medical Center say she is the earliest baby delivered that they have seen survive. Eirian was so tiny her Mothers wedding band fit up to her little shoulder. The complications of such an early birth are such that Eirian has already had laser eye surgery, partial colon removal, and heart surgery. She has chronic lung disease, a trach to help her breathe and also has pulmonary hypertension. Eirian is now 7 months old and weighs 8 pounds. They describe her as their miracle baby, who fought her way into the world and continues to fight through her treatments. They can tell you how feisty this little redhead girl really is, claiming she has the right to protest as they watch her trying to pull tubes out and automatically comes out of anesthesia. Her parents Reanna & Cory hope to bring her home to Brogue for the holidays!!!! Following a parade of firefighters, police, and local EMTs which will end at the Tourist Inn, the auction will start at 2:00 pm in the ballroom. The days events will include the live auction at 2:00, with hundreds of items including collectibles, gift certificates, baked goods, etc. There will also be giveaways throughout the day, and food and beverage specials as well. 100% of donations and all auction proceeds will go to Eirians family. Special guests will be Eirians family our guests of honor, Santa & Mrs. Claus and their merry elves. The Hellam & Wrightsville Fireefighters, Police Dept. and EMTs. If you or a business would like to make a monetary donation or an item for auction, please contact Annette Toman or Michele Decker at the Tourist Inn, (717)755-7629.
