Earlier I had a little chat with the man upstairs to thank him for my new lifestyle. It has gotten me back to a place where I feel like myself again and comfortable with wearing leggings. Something o havent shared with you is the success by the numbers and how I got here. *Disclaimer: I am about to show you all a before and after picture that is not photo shopped! My face will tell you just how awkward I feel about full body selfies not wearing a lot :-/ I started my health journey on July 7th of this year. It was time to get back to me and not just being a Mom. Plus, I really need more energy to keep up with these 2 energizer bunnies Adam and I reproduced! (For a short time we thought our electric bill was so high because they were plugging themselves in every night!) I joined a 90 day #accountabilitychallenge group on Facebook. In my mind I was only planning on 30 days but I was trying to keep my mind open. I also said I wasnt going to do the diet part of it because I like to do things that are sustainable everyday. I learned quickly that #cleaneating is not a diet. It is a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. Next came the workout recovery, nutritional, wellness and meal replacement drink. Yep, said no to that at first as well! Once I realized my protein shake wasnt cutting it after my workouts I gave it a try. Im super picky so I was sure I would be returning it under the 30 day, empty bag policy. Damn, it worked and it has become an investment in myself. Im worth it :-) After the 30 days of working out 6 days a week for 25-40 minutes a day I was not so satisfies with the number on the scale. Luckily I remembered I had taken 13 different measurements and I am so glad I did! I could tell my clothes fit me better but numbers dont lie....unless your playing golf with a pencil that has an eraser ;-) Needless to say 30 days turned into 60 and then into 90. The last month I wasnt able to workout 6 days a week due to some illness and 2 sick, stage 5 clinger kiddos! I finally took my after picture and measurements today. (Sorry it had been 110 days. Better late than never!) Here are my results by the numbers..... Neck -3/4 Arms -2 1/8 (between both) Chest -1/2 Stomach -5 (over all 3 measurements) Hips -3 Thighs. -9.5 (between both legs and 3 measurements) Calves. -1.5 That makes a grand total of 22.375 lost! Weight 10lbs What did I learn besides my weight and inches lost? - That I am no longer a skeptic! - I proved to myself that I can get a great workout at home in just 30-40 minutes 6 days a week. - Clean eating proved to me that 80% of body weight is diet and 20% is working out. - How helpful an accountabilty/challenge group can be. - I sleep better....(when I get sleep!) - A sense of community - Not only that I have been inspired and motivated by perfect strangers but that I am inspiring others to start their journey to becoming healthy. - My body is not old and broken down like it was acting before. - What true happiness , comfort and self confidence is for me.
