Earlier this week, I spoke at a scoping session regarding the annexation petition to move 164 acres from the Town of Monroe into the Village of Kiryas Joel. The leaders in KJ are the self-anointed lead agents for the environmental review that are supposed to objectively examine the impacts and potential impacts the annexation would have. Theres one problem: given past remarks in support of annexation, theres no way the leaders of KJ can be an objective lead agent.
