Earlier today, I stood at the entrance to the Old City, cheering - TopicsExpress

Earlier today, I stood at the entrance to the Old City, cheering on those running in the Jerusalem Marathon. As hundreds of people ran past us, I noticed two girls (there were probably more, but the heat and dehydration were getting to me) wearing what Im certain were Running for Rashi Minkowicz tshirts. During a time of such Ruach and fun, its easy to forget about the heartache of others. But standing there, I thought back to this page filled with prayers and promises and my heart swelled with pride. Despite not being one of those fortunate enough to meet Rashi, its clear to me- and the countless others who are in my boat- that Rashi was a woman who believed and invested wholeheartedly into achdut and Ruach. Standing there, on a day filled with pumping music and people deliriously tired, yet equally as happy, as we cheered them, I thought of how Rashi would be smiling at the many different Jews running for so many different charities. I promise I will try and say brachot before eating, in Rashis memory. I find that a mitzvah that focuses on praising G-ds generosity is fitting for this cause. May Rashis memory be blessed and may her family find comfort in the knowledge that their wife and mother was such a tremendous person, and is still changing Jewish lives around the world. Shabbat Shalom from the Holy Land
