Earlier today, an Irondale firefighter suffered a cardiac arrest event while performing overhaul after a structure fire. He was immediately treated by other firefighters on the scene and was transported to Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham, where he is being treated in the CCU. He is currently undergoing hypothermic therapy and the extent of his condition will not be known until that process is completed. Irondale Chief Randy Davis has asked that the firefighters name be withheld at this time. Please keep this firefighter, Chief Davis and the entire Irondale Fire Department in your thoughts and prayers.
