Earlier today between 2pm and 2.30pm a conman was active in the Moyglare area outside Dunboyne. He was targeting elderly people living in the area with the €50 note scam. Basically, the conman knocked on the door of the elderly person pretending that he had found a €50 note and asked that the householder go in to check if they lost it from their purse. The conman followed the elderly person into the house expecting her to be alone. He got the fright of his life when he realised there was a neighbour inside with the elderly lady. The conman man made up some excuse but left the house immediately empty handed and went down the Moyglare road on his phone most likely calling his accomplice. he was described as in his mid thirties wearing a baseball hat and brown jacket.
