Earlier today we at Northeast Communications were thinking of a fun thing to offer our friends and customers that would allow all of us to enjoy our radios and one that would allow us to give a away some more prizes. Then we got a bright idea...an old fashioned DXpedition on 11 meters. A contest to see who talks to the most states and who makes the most contacts in a 3 day period. We will have prizes for the categories of the most contacts and the most states contacted and were going to break it down between mobile units and base units just to make it fair. In the next day or so all the details and rules for the contest will be posted on the Northeast Communications Facebook page, WWW.facebook/nems so keep an eye out for it. We will have special event call signs for those of you who want to join in and we will try to have a Facebook page set up just for the contest. Let us stress a few points. FIRST...its free to participate. There will be no fees to join in the fun. SECOND...keep in mind the FCC rules about talking over 150 miles. and THIRD...remember the FCC wants us to transmit with no more then 4 watts. Now that we got the legal crap out of the way, more details on whats allowed and whats not allowed during the contest will be posted under the rules well be posting. The most important thing here is for us to have fun! Well make new friends in DX land and win some cool prizes too. Do us a favor and spread the word about this DXpedition. It will be held from November 8th, 9th and 10th. Like we said, keep an eye open on the Northeast Communications page for all the details that are coming soon. But definitely keep the weekend of November 8th through the 10th clear and get ready to talk some skip my friends. It will be a blast!
