Early Day 31. This is a fascinating take on coincidences: https://youtube/watch?v=sHCHEykUxP4&list=UU6nSFpj9HTCZ5t-N3Rm3-HA&index=2 I have a slightly varied view from this however. This may sound quite strange to many who will disagree on my analysis of this element of reality. Attention determines what reality is for each of us. Well be able to interact with information were looking for, this is why things like looking at video footage and being completely unaware of a man in a gorilla suit walking across the field of view can happen. I think the main area I disagree about the understanding of the situation is brought more to view when he covers the topic of Walter Summerford illustrates my thoughts perfectly. Statistically, a person in reality existing who gets hit by lightning 3 times is incredibly likely with the amount of humans and lightning there has been in history. If we simply explain this as In the vast body of data this is likely to occur. and leave it at that, it doesnt cover the next thing Vsauce brought up of This was more likely to occur in this situation because he was an outdoor enthusiast. As a spiritual person I believe in synchronicity: Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events as meaningfully related, where they are unlikely to be causally related. The subject sees it as a meaningful coincidence. A reason I find this to be an accurate assessment is a different element of the same understanding. If you look for something, youll find it. Is true in far more ways than just stating that statistics allow people to believe faulty logic. The more you understand any given subject (Potentially sans quantum activity, though thats a more complex topic), the less its interactions appear to be coincidence or random. Explaining Walter Summerford as coincidence based off of the fact that with the number of humans and lightning strikes this is a likely outcome is useful to know. However probability used in this sense implies a non existent randomness in how lightning functions and someones ability to be hit by lightning. The reason its statistically likely to occur has continuously more factors the deeper you delve into it. Everything in reality happens because the natural laws that govern how the universe functions are continually functioning as opposed to simply because it was bound to happen eventually. Determining how much of an impact any specific variable had on an event occurring is the important section of determining how much of an impact the variables have on one another. This is ludicrously difficult in daily life because of the large body of variables that interact in the network of reality. Determining meaningful patterns and relationship of events is at the root of the vast majority of anything moving from relying on chance to relying on skill. Heres where it gets a bit more spiritual. I very much believe everyone is on a path to most authentically being themselves, this path may meander and feel retrograde at times, but this is only to learn lessons which can benefit the person in knowing better how to be authentic. Sometimes the best way to learn greater authenticity is to experience the contrasting facade of ersatz. What your consciousness draws patterns in is incredibly important to pay attention to. Why is it that youre drawing the connection youre drawing from a synchronicity? How can you use that awareness to make decisions which will allow you to become more authentic to who you are? I think of the patterns of synchronicities which form in my life as helpful clues from higher awareness of what I can focus on to be more authentically myself. Synchronicities are happening every second of every day, patterns form from apparently unrelated variables at all times. Where we focus our awareness, and how we use that awareness is where the value lies. In example, before I started Yoga for quite awhile I had synchronicities come up in my life in which yoga came up. Lots of people I respect were doing Yoga, Id walk into a sports store and there would be a sale on mats, I would be reading something instructional in an unrelated field and the author would have also written about yoga elsewhere, Id learn specific exercises Id learned from unrelated things have their origins in yoga, Id be told by someone a specific exercise could help with a pain Id been experiencing, etc. This is statistically very likely since I live in the bay area, I have many friends who are interested in fields which relate to yoga and meditation, stores are constantly having sales, social media notices what Ill like on Facebook, and all kinds of other factors which dont make this string of events terribly unlikely. My decision making primarily revolves around how I can be most authentic to myself, and I feel my authentic self is healthy and strong. Whether the series of events were probabilistically likely and there was no meaning behind it, or it was messages from a higher power doesnt matter to “Is making this decision going to help me be who I am more authentically?” Thats the question which really matters at that point. That was a very mundane example, but it illustrates the point on a scale which will make more sense to people who dont have wild spiritual things happening in their life regularly. Use awareness you generate through all means, synchronicities and otherwise to help you make good decisions. Now to return to the “You get what you look for” statement. If you get what you look for, then why arent you investing your time in looking for the ways to most benefit and bless your life? Or in a material sense. Why arent you looking for diamonds? Put your attention where it will benefit you. When youre investing your energy in seeing why life sucks I have plenty of confidence that youll masterfully observe the state of politics, assholes on the street, and all kinds of other negative and aggravating situations in life. Although I believe in higher awareness truly and completely, I feel it largely functions through the subconscious mind. When you train your subconscious to look for things which will make your life better, youll start to find them. In any random sampling of helpful and harmful potential stimulus in your environment if your subconscious is set to finding the helpful things youre dramatically more likely to be aware of things that can help you. The next step is acting on your awareness, so your subconscious brought something helpful to your conscious attention, now its time to do something with it. You can find all the data that says “Go do yoga” but until you start that downward dog all youll have are signs. #90DaysOfTruth
