Early intervention is the key! I was told this same thing when Santiago was two and a half and it really didnt mean much at the time. I just knew my son needed help and he needed it now! Many of the services or programs I have had Santiago in have come to me through my own research. Research and sometimes being a little bit of a nuisance to people I needed information from. But, as parents that is our job, our responsibility. Those same people that I was a nuisance to would of gladly done the same for their own child in need. I have included a link to the Idaho Infant Toddler program. If your child is between 0-3 years of age this would be one of your first steps to getting an evaluation and on the right track to getting help. A few programs the Infant Toddler Program assists with is speech therapy, developmental therapy, occupational therapy and service coordination. A pediatrician can also send a referral for this program. Another link I will be posting is the Infant and Toddler Program Ages and Stages questionnaire. Again, I cant stress enough...it is our responsibility to be an advocate for our children, no matter what the developmental need is. If WE as PARENTS dont do this for them, WHO will?
