Early update from joe. Hi everyone, I wanted to give you an earlier update today since there was talk of removing the vent today. They did have him do another breathing test this morning and determined that he was not ready to fully move off the vent but they are happy about the progress he has made over the weekend. At this point, I think theyll leave him on the vent for a few more days, but Ive been surprised before. They are lowering the sedation today and are hoping to wake him up so they can do some neurological evaluations and assess his pain levels in order to keep moving forward. They are also planning on looking a little closer at his head tomorrow because there was a small possible blood spot on his brain in the last CT scan. The fact that they arent rushing to investigate further, and the fact that Judy isnt concerned, has me thinking that theyre just doing their due diligence and are not worried about something more dangerous. The best news of the day, as far as Im concerned, is that Judy was feeling confident enough to leave the hospital for a few hours to go visit her mom, who is currently at Alton Memorial. I think were still making strides in the right direction and will continue to update you (at least once daily) as progress continues. Joe
