East Moline BMX State Qualifier Triple Point Race Recap: Weather = Outstanding Goal = Maximum BMX Action Mission = Accomplished 264 Riders = 57 Motos Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Alabama in the House! Adam Bekley and Shane Voisine Rocking the mics. Nice! A lot of old school BMX showed up today. A bunch of 30 year vets out there. Knowledge! Trophies were on point and always will be. Striders get a crowd that surrounds the whole fence around the track. And what a track it is. Amazing! You know how i can tell if things went well at a race at East Moline BMX? When i pull the lid on the septic tank and..............well youll just have to ask me sometime. Raffle was nuts. Thanks to GHP, IM BMX, DK, Fly Racing and everyone else that pitched in for prizes. Also, 50/50 was $234 to win. Our new sales agent is named Crystal and she Rocks! The race action was off the charts. I cant explain it. You had to be there. The track was like a freeway. Really fast today. Snack Shack sold it all from breakfast to home made burritos. The amount of business they handled today was insane. THANK YOU! Ladies raced a cash open today that had a total of 13 riders trying to qualify for the main. Heather Collman and Stephani Morin went back and forth with Collman getting the top spot and $200, Morin in the 2 and Whitney Ruffridge in the 3. Great Racing. This type of race should happen at all the qualifiers. Yes, i said that. Guys Money Open had 19 riders in it to win it. With $1050 on the line things were not going to be normal by any means. 3 Racks of riders qualified down to 2 - 6 man semis. I cant really remember much about the semi i was in other than i thought i was doing good, then some guys blew up and i was doing a lot better after that. In the mayhem we lost Ethan The Kid Kennedy. He was caught up in the mess and a couple other guys were out also. Semi 2 had Thompson and Holtz up front with a couple other fast guys. Main event can be called from my first person view.I holeshotted from lane 7 against guys that are 25 years younger than me. I saw no one until the bottom of the 1st turn when Sean Thompson came underneath me and hung me out to dry as nice as he possibly could. I got a good push off the top and tore after him. Things were still going rather well when i decided to buck myself off the step into the last turn giving Jason McMullen complete control of the inside line. I then followed him in. Sean T. with the win - age 43, Jason McMullen with the 2nd - age 20, Paul DePauw with the 3rd - age 44. I dont think i could be any happier. What a Day! These events couldnt be possible without the help from our volunteers. We have some of the best. The pride that people have at East Moline BMX is no less than amazing. I want to Thank all of you for your time and efforts. It happens all the time, wether it is a fence post or tarp, a mic or a score pad. All the jobs need a person behind them. I am very Thankful for the people that take up these jobs and fill the spot. This is how we do it, and without you , it wont get done. THANKS! Thanks to all that ventured out for our State event. We appreciate you choosing our race to attend. We would also like to see you back sometime. Thanks Again!
