East Pennsboro Elementary Principal Transfers into District’s Supervisor of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Position Mr. Matthew Strine, current East Pennsboro Elementary Principal, was approved to transfer into the district’s Supervisor of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment position effective for the 2013-2014 school year at the June 17, 2013, school board meeting. “Mr. Strine has been very involved with new initiatives being implemented into the elementary schools and our middle school,” said Bruce Deveney, superintendent. “We feel that he is the right person for consistency moving forward with district initiatives.” Stine has been a key person in implementing the Common Core Standards, the Response to Instruction and Intervention, the Students at Risk process, the new reading program at the elementary and middle school and has been the lead on the new teacher effectiveness process with Mr. Yanni. He has an elementary education degree, reading specialist degree and holds a math certificate, principal K12 certificate and a superintendent letter of eligibility. The East Pennsboro Area School District will now search for a new principal for East Pennsboro Elementary School. The district plans to fill this position prior to the start of the 2013-2014 school year. Mr. Steven Yanni, the current supervisor of curriculum, instruction and assessment resigned at the July 7, 2013, school board meeting. Yanni has worked for the East Pennsboro School District since 2010 and was recently chosen for the position of Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development at the New Hope-Solebury School District. “Mr. Strine and I have worked seamlessly together for the past three years and I am confident that his appointment will continue to move the district forward,” said Steven Yanni.
