East To West is excited to announce another addition to our Thursday Night line up. 2014 ECMA Gospel Recording of the Year winner Becka deHann will be kicking off the evening. 2014 East Coast Music Award (ECMA) winner, Becka deHaan, is delighted to be opening the East to West Festival this year, in Shediac, New Brunswick. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and raised in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Becka has performed across Canada, including at the Senate in Ottawa in 2008, at a Canadian Social Forum in Calgary in 2009 and in concert in Winnipeg in 2010, as the opening act for Juno Award nominee, Terry Kelly. Following the success of her 2010 debut album, “Wait for the Wind,” Becka’s second, Covenant Award nominated, full-length album, “Long-awaited, Unexpected.”, was named the ECMA’s Gospel Recording of the Year. Blending her classical background with bluesy, soul, country and pop influences, Becka produces an offering that compels one to sit and listen, and will inspire you to sing along. Her lyrics are thankful and reverent, reflective and celebrative, inviting you to come and worship in body and spirit, heart and soul, to praise our God.
