EastEnders Beale family face another emotional day later this month as they front a press appeal over Lucys murder. Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Peter (Ben Hardy) are asked to face reporters and appeal for new information after detectives admit that their investigation into Lucys demise has stalled. A reluctant Ian agrees to go ahead with the idea, but he feels like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders as he prepares his speech. Ian draws some comfort from the thought that Peter, Lola, Denise, Sharon and Phil will all be in the room with him for the appeal, but he is left shaken when the police decide that only Peter can go in with him. Facing the press, Ian makes an emotional plea with Peter by his side, but things soon go wrong when the reporters take an upsetting line of questioning in the Q&A that follows. After the conference, Denise, Peter and Sharon demand to know why DI Keeble didnt step in and stop the reporters from going too far. However, when Phil realises that Keeble believes Ian is hiding something and wanted to make him talk, he confronts Ian and demands to know what hes keeping quiet over… EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, August 12 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
