Eating Clean There is a worrying new trend in fitness. The myth - TopicsExpress

Eating Clean There is a worrying new trend in fitness. The myth of clean eating. It is not fuelled by a desire to be thin or skinny or even wholly to look better, although that is obviously a factor. In fact most sufferers are affluent and well educated, in their 30s and can be overweight. It is fuelled by the desire to be healthy, and perpetuated by misinformation and bullshit peddled by advertising and marketing companies. They prey on your fears and the desire to be healthy. They bombard you with articles, scare you with statistics and entice you with pictures unrealistic and unattainable bodies. And you dutifully, click, view, play and purchase whilst actively regurgitating it to your friends and bros without ever fact checking or even entertaining an ounce of critical thinking. If you constantly feel the need to eat clean, enjoy your bleach and dont judge me with your sad eyes as I consume a perfectly acceptable amount of tacos. And then a burrito. And then a frozen treat. Maybe some fro-yo.. Im bulking. Or doing IIFYM. Or something. Shut up. Statistically, 1 in 100 Australians suffer from Celiac disease. And yet 50% of my instagram feed is blurry photos of gluten free meals. (The other 50% is understandably Jen Selter selfies.) To make matters worse, research has found that people on gluten-free diets often gain weight, as many gluten-free foods are still quite calorie dense. If your goal is weight loss or performance, dont get sucked in by the trends and marketing, and stick to real, whole foods. https://facebook/RiversideSPB?ref=hl
