Ebay question… If someone offers something and the description - TopicsExpress

Ebay question… If someone offers something and the description title says free shipping, new, but then the bill comes up with shipping, and when one writes to complain and ask that the shipping be removed, the response is Oh, sorry, that header was re-used from some other listing, and shipping is $8.95, no mistake, and also its used, not new… And if I wanted to cancel the purchase, that was fine. (And that the description said gently used, but the header said new; I didnt read the description, I read the header.) Will ebay care? What I did was ask for a quick refund of the shipping by PayPal as soon as my payment arrives, or Ill report it. Any priests, ethicists or lawyers want to advise me? Is that blackmail or negotiation? And if Im just refunded the whole thing without getting the item, should I just make the raspberry noise at my computer and have breakfast, or should I press ebay to make that bad person send me those Lincoln Logs? And what if she spits in them or takes out a piece for spiteful meanness? What I said was that it was only fair that her mistake cost her the price of the shipping, and that advertising new about something that is used is fraud. I said it nicely, I suppose. As nicely as one can call a stranger a cheaterish thief. There are other Lincoln Log sets at a Walmart three miles from here.
