Cynodon dactylon Abstract With the outbreak of Ebola Fever and after seeing its morbidity, there was a need for effective research for a breakthrough in its treatment. We tried to update all in this regard with our latest paper. Cynodon has a renowned position in Indian systems of medicine and many parts of the plants are assumed to have medicinal properties. This Homeopathic medicine has got potent effectiveness that is proven during various types of hemorrhagic conditions and fever; and also this medicine has been clinically tested, proven(Drug proving by Homeopathic principals) and approved by CCRH (Central Council for Research in Homeopathy) AYUSH Government of India, as an Homeopathic medicine from Indian Origin of Herbs. Although it is a commonly grown grass but its efficacy on fighting various diseases conditions has been established in various clinical trials. Introduction In our research we found, as per Principle of homeopathy that the medicinal agent which can produce the symptoms similar to a disease condition in normal human being, it can cure those same symptoms /disease in a sick individual. Dr Naval Kumar in this research has found “Cynodon dactylon” (durba or Bermuda grass) a proven Homeopathic drug as Genus epidemicus for “ Ebola Fever “as a prophylactic and as a treatment drug, as many of its Symptoms during clinical proving are similar/analogous to Ebola Fever. There have been several outbreaks of Ebola fever in Africa. Ebola virus enter inside body through direct contact of affected animal or human through various fluid routes which include blood, saliva, semen, vomit, urine, or feces. According to the World Health Organization, one can also get this virus inside body through contact with affected animal. (WHO, 2007). The Ebola virus was discovered in 1976 and has appeared in sporadic outbreaks since then. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there have been 2,265 reported cases of Ebola fever in humans around the world since 1976. Of these, 1,531 resulted in death (CDC, 2012). As we know the treatment for this virus has not been properly established and efforts are being done to counteract this ailment. In one folk variant of the Ramayana, it is the hair of Sita . When sita was there in lanka she used this grass between herself and Ravan as this grass sheltered her. Sita warned Ravan about the grass that if ravan is going to cross it his head will break into many pieces. This makes the grass the Sita-rekha that prevents Ravana from crossing the line of propriety with the faithful wife of another man. Holistic approach is needed to cure this deadly disease and Homeopathy can provide a hope for treatment for this problem. More clinical study is needed after using this medicine on Ebola fever patients. As it has already shown clinical results on patients, with symptoms like fever, vomiting, blood in stool, nose, excessive weakness shock like symptoms, and hemorrhages on skin, these symptoms corresponds to this Ebola fever symptoms. And also this study has given a hope for patients who are infected with this virus and can be used as prophylactic for travelers who have come from epidemic areas like Africa and Phillipines etc. Conclusion The effect of Cynodon as an antimicrobial has already been established in various researches and also as per Ancient Hindu Veda’s and Ramayana, its purifying effect was written and explained. Although there is an indication in Homeopathic drug proving and clinical indications of the symptoms similarity for its use as Ebola fever medicine. But still the effectiveness of this Homeopathic medicine to be used as Ebola Virus fever medicine is still to be established by using it on Ebola virus infected patients. As This Medicine has already shown clinical results on patients, with symptoms like fever, vomiting, blood in stool, nose, and hemorrhages on skin, these symptoms corresponds to this Ebola fever symptoms. The Holistic approach in these cases by including Homeopathy as an allied treatment along with other support therapies to Ebola Virus infected patient may give us a valuable update on this new development of treatment.
