Ebonys post about reading AMoL had me thinking. I had a relatively unemotional experience with that book, considering that Id spent half my life waiting for the end of WoT. But for me, it was the release of TGS that hit me harder. The wait between KoD and TGS was brutal, going from the shock of RJs death, to the anxiety of wondering whether the series would be finished, to the cautious excitement of finding out B Sand was picked. The release of TGS was perfect in so many ways for me. An album by one of my favorite bands came out the same day (Congregation of the Damned by Atreyu) and featured a song titled Black Days Begin. That will be forever tied to my experience of reading that book. On top of that, over the course of the day, as I read, a major snowstorm rolled into the Front Range and buried Colorado State under almost two feet of snow. The Gathering Storm, indeed.
