Ecuador: Ibero-American Youth Denounces Case of Cuban Prisoners in US Quito, May 16 (Prensa Latina) The case of the Cubans held prisoners in U.S. jails endangers the international law, the Secretary General of the Ibero-American Youth Organization (IYO), Alejo Ramirez, denounced here today. People who were in the United States fighting terrorism can not be considered a terrorist, so we have to remain in solidarity asking for their release, the Argentinian youth leader told Prensa Latina. This is absolutely a political trial that has broken the rights to defense, he noted. Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez were detained in 1998 and submitted to a corrupt trial in Miami. Rene and Fernando already returned to their homeland after completing their prison sentences, but their three compatriots are still in U.S. prisons. Ramirez said that struggle makes the dignity of a people, and I think that calls everyone, wherever we may come from. I think its is something very important.
