~Eczema Baby~ Inside Im crying, outside Im trying to be strong for my eczema baby. She tells me that she asked Jesus to take the itch away, God knows what Hes doing is all I can say...and then we pray. I say rub, dont itch, and then I sigh. Im trying to stop, but I cant! She replies. Its bath time and I see the terror in her eyes...water stings her skin so she screams and she cries. Shes bitten her nails down to the bed cause she knows eventually theyll get infected. She scratches and scratches until she bleeds red; thinking shes bad cause daddy and mommy no scratching they said. Scabs on her feet, scars starting to form---nothing like my perfect-skinned baby when born. Watching a child say eww when she sees my babys skin...a moment I soon wont forget. Evenings plagued with sleeplessness, as the itch gets worse at night. Pray for my baby as she fights this eczema fight! Inside Im crying, outside Im trying to be strong for my eczema baby. She tells me that she asked Jesus to take the itch away, God knows what Hes doing is all I can say...and then we pray. ~Angie Chambers Joined an eczema support group on Facebook about a month ago that has members all across the globe. They understand what we struggle with, and have been a good outlet & resource for us, especially me. One of the members wrote the above poem, it brought tears to my eyes knowing this battle resounds in many lives, not just our sweet baby Jude. Monday we see a Dermatologist at Kaiser Sunset (LA) who has been somewhat designated as a pediatric specialist. Looking for help, for answers, something to bring Jude more relief for the incessant itching head-to-toe, raw red rashes & excessively flaking skin, majorly swollen lymph nodes all across his neck & shoulders, mood swings, and sleepless nights. Every case of eczema is individual and varying in degree. What works for you, will most likely not work for Jude, because thats just how this disease goes. THANK YOU to our many prayer warriors who have almost no idea what we are dealing with, yet empathize and have compassion for Judes battle with this affliction and pray consistently for our precious child.
