Edgar sat on a park bench with God. As always he was feeding the birds bread crumbs grinning in his own delight like a small child. Edgar watched his master with an arched eyebrow that seemed to say “Seriously …” God glanced over to his servant and asked “So my boy how are your plans coming along?” Edgar snorted and crossed his arms in contempt “You would know old man, it’s been the only constant thing ive been talking to you about.” God smiled “..and have I given you a answer yet?” He asked coyly. “…No…” Edgar drawled rolling his eyes. God laughed “Well we will just have to keep on waiting wont we? the anticipation is exciting..Keeps you on your toes doesn’t it?” Edgar stared angrily arms still crossed “…No…its annoying id prefer it if you stopping playing games and just tell me what needs doing and be done with it.” God looked appalled but amused “Edgar my boy where is your sense of adventure? Excitement? A healthy dose of mystery, to keep you from getting bored now and then eh?” Edgar groaned and rubbed his temples, “You killed it remember? Along with my sanity, You senile old codger. My whole life has been a roller coaster with you.” God smiled a grandfatherly smile …yes…yes it has..you see the baby bird there in the nest?” Edgar growled “what bird old man?...this one there what of it?” God continued patiently “If I were to tell it all the things it will accomplish all the things it will suffer…all the joys and sorrow it will have to live through what do you think it reaction will be?” Edgar grunted “It would probably say you’re off your rocker and then have a heart attack in fear of the future..and failure, the poor bastard.” God nodded ignoring the swear. “Precisely..Some things my boy are best not known until you children are ready, armed with the strength and courage of all your past struggles and experiences. Little by little I will guide you by your little hand and show you where you need to go and what to do..But only until you’re ready.”
