Editors assesment (yay): The book is well-written, heartbreaking..Glen and his family went through a nightmare while managing to seek out and embrace positives in it that everyone can apply in their own lives. There is a sense of loving defiance in the face of death that resonates with the reader. It did with me... the impact Glen had on those around him, and the love he inspired in people, really touched me. Theres a directness of explanation and narrative that keeps the engine of the story moving forward without rambling or unwanted distraction, and inherent tension and subtle urgency due to the fact that Glen was without a doubt going to die. By building up his life concurrently with the progression of his disease, you illustrate exactly how awful it is for this to happen to anyone, and especially someone as decent as Glen whom the world loves and will truly miss. The narrators tone is very tea-in-the-parlor-during-a-thunderstorm conversational.... I believe this book will do well. It’s sincere, fearless and earnest.
