Education abroad fair “Days of International Education”, October 3 (Tallinn, Estonia), October 5 (Riga, Latvia), October 6 (Vilnius, Lithuania) Autumn is here again, and it is time to learn more about education opportunities both in the Baltics and abroad. Traditional education abroad fair „Days of International Education”, which since 2004 is organised twice a year in the Baltic states by Baltic Council for International Education in co-operation with educational agency Meridian Group, is a wonderful chance to find out more about secondary and higher education opportunities, foreign language courses in various countries, and decide – continue studying here in Baltics or choose an interesting programme in one of the universities in Europe or China. This year the fair “Days of International Education” will take place on Thursday, October 3 in the Radisson Blu Hotel Olympia (Tallinn, 33 Liivalaia Str); Saturday, October 5 in the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija (Riga, 55 Elizabetes Str); Sunday, October 6 in the Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva (Vilnius, 20 Konstitucijos pr.). Opening hours: 10:00 – 18:00. Free admission. More than 80 educational institutions and organisations related to education abroad will participate in the fair: • Universities from Great Britain, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, China, etc.; • Music and dance conservatories from England and the Netherlands; • Hotel management schools from Switzerland; • Prestigious private schools and independent colleges from England and Switzerland; • State-funded British secondary schools and further education colleges; • British private school based summer camps for pupils that offer language courses together with activity programmes and academic subjects, specialised football camps, etc.; • British examination centre in Latvia BCIE, which administrates IELTS, Cambridge English Language Assessment, as well as distance learning and professional examinations; • British Council in Latvia. List of all participants in each country can be found on the web site balticcouncil.org Visitors of the fair will be able to learn about various education possibilities and the programmes that are offered, entry requirements, financial issues, as well as discuss various practical matters that become topical when studying abroad. Visitors also will be able to receive competent answers and professional advice about British universities’ application process through Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and other education abroad related questions from the consultants of „Meridian Group” agency and Baltic Council of International Education. It will be possible to find out more about the international English language certificate IELTS: where and when to take the exam, how to prepare and what resources to use, as well as the possibility to register for the examination online. During the fair in Riga the winners of the essay competition “IELTS – The Key to Your Success!” will be announced. They will have the possibility of taking the IELTS exam in Riga free of charge and receive the internationally accepted IELTS certificate.
