Effective monitoring imperative for equitable dev: Sadhotra Reviews physical, financial achievements of Planning Deptt JAMMU, AUGUST 03:- Minister for Planning, Labour and Employment, Mr. Ajay Sadhotra today called upon the officers to evolve effective mechanism to ensure time bound execution of development projects for equitable development of three regions of the state. The Minister said this while chairing a high level meeting to review the performance of physical verification of development projects carried out by Additional District Development Commissioners of various districts of Jammu province at Civil Secretariat here today. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to Government, Planning and Development Department, Mr. B.R. Sharma, Director General, Economics and Statistics, Mr. B. R. Lachotra, Director Planning Information Monitoring (PIM), Mr. Anil Gandotra, Director CSS, Mr. Shakti Singh Jamwal, Regional Joint Director, Evaluation and Statistics, Mrs. Rajni Charak, Joint Director DES, Mrs. Veena Kumari besides other senior officers of concerned department. Mr. Sadhotra exhorted upon the officers to evolve effective monitoring and take innovative measures for implementation of centrally and state sponsored schemes at grass root level to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of the state which is the top priority of the government. He stressed upon the officers concerned to conduct extensive tours on regular intervals to personally monitor ongoing development projects in their respective districts so that the benefit of the same would percolate to the people especially living in rural pockets. He asked the officers to remove bottlenecks hampering developmental projects and adopt corrective measures to ensure speedy execution of development projects to develop the state on modern lines. The Minister directed the officers to furnish monthly/quarterly physical and financial performance of the projects based on field inspections and adhere departmental instructions for optimum use of funds and to avoid financial indiscipline. He said that ADDCs and DESOs have to play a pivotal role in verification and implementation of developmental schemes. The Minister said that block inspection procedure would be modified so that the officers can monitor the works executed in other blocks of the district for their time bound completion. Later, the Minister facilitated Dr. Neeraj, a renowned Acupressureist for his exceptional services in the field of acupressure at a function organized by Nami Dogri Sanstha at K.L. Saighal Hall. He said that acupressure has become increasingly popular in recent years, though it has been used for centuries as a natural treatment for various diseases. He said that Dr. Neeraj is a skilled acupressurist and is doing a yeoman job by providing relief to people suffering from various diseases. He hoped that people should avail benefit from this natural phenomenon to get themselves healed from diseases. He appreciated the efforts of Cultural Academy for organizing such mega event and hoped that the academy would organize such programmes in near future to facilitate renowned persons for their extraordinary services towards the civil society in their respective fields. Additional Secretary JKAACL, Mrs. Savita Bakshi, Veteran Journalist, Mr. Sohail Kazmi , President Nami Duggar Sanstha, Harish Kaila, General Secretary, Nami Duggar Sanstha, Mr. Yash Pal Yash besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
