Effort & Result: Two critical things that I value in evaluating talents. Result wont come without effort. Even if you rely on initial talents, without consistent effort to grow and improve, your result will be limited. Ive seen so many people who are talented waste their talents away because of their lack of effort to hone and grow their talents. They want result without effort. There is no such thing. It is an illusion. There are people who promise freedom without sacrifice. Run from them. According to the laws of the universe as we know it, there is no such thing as something for nothing. Yes, you can have a wonderful lifestyle and have freedom, etc. do what you want, when you want, wherever you want, with whomever you want... after youve worked your socks off to set up the system to support that lifestyle. At the same time... Effort without result means little. If youre putting in a lot of effort but not getting result, it either means that youre not putting the right kind of effort or youre putting your effort in the wrong things... or youre just lying to yourself. Research has shown that dedicated, consistent practice in a particular skill will improve ones mastery of that skill. (I thought that its kinda obvious and common sense, but they did a research to prove it anyways.) Bottom line, if you put in the right effort in the right things, you will improve and gain mastery. So in essence, its pretty simple to become a master in what you do and achieve success through it: Put in dedicated, consistent effort in the right things. And let your results be a guide on whether youre on the right path. Useful? Share it so others can benefit as well. :)
