Eid-el-kabir is indeed a mega event which marks down the end of pilgrimage to the Holy land, makkah: The significance and the relevance of Eid-el-kabir is largely anchored on the sincerity of prophet Ibrahim and his son-Ismail, when they both surrendered to ALLAHs commandment for Ismail to be sacrificed. Quran, 37:100-112 says, My LORD! Give me a meritorious child: we therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son: And when he became capable of working for him, said Ibrahim, Oh my son (Ismail), I dreamt that I am sacrificing you- therefore now consider what is ur opinion: He (Ismail) said, O my father! Do what you are commanded! ALLAH willingly, you will soon find me patiently enduring! Then (remember) when they both submitted to ALLAHs command, and Ibrahim lay his son (Ismail) facing downwards (the knife did not hurt Ismail): And we called out to him, O Ibrahim! You have indeed made the dream come true, and this is how we reward the virteous: Indeed this was a clear test: And we rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice (the sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail #peacebeuponthem is commemorated annually on 10, 11 and 12 of Zhul-Hajji: And we kept his praise among the latter generations: peace be upon Ibrahim! This is how reward the virteous: He (Ibrahim) is indeed one of our high ranking, firly believing bondmen: And we gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the hidden, from among those who deserve our proximity.
